If you want to create a successful blog and get a good ranking in Google, then you must know about Dofollow and Nofollow backlinks.

To understand Dofollow and Nofollow links, you must first understand how the search engine (google, yahoo, bing) works. All search engines try to show the best search result pages to their users, and for this, they check some quality factors on every web page, one of the essential is backlinks.

What is Backlink?

When a website links with any other webpage, it is called Backlink.

Previously, Backlinks were a significant metric in the ranking of a webpage.

A page that has plenty of backlinks have higher chances of ranking high in all major search engines (including Google).

What Are They and What are Differences Between Them.

Dofollow Backlinks

Whenever a website gives a link to your website on an article or page, the search engine bots follow that link. With this, your site gets Link Juice. With this, the ranking and domain authority of the website also improves.

By default, all links are Dofollow, and search engine bots along with humans are also able to follow them. You also get a backlink in the form of a Dofollow link.

A Dofollow link example:

Nofollow Backlinks disables Search engine bots not to follow links. Only humans can follow them. Although your article or website does not benefit much from Nofollow links, but both these links must be in regular quantity on your website. To make any link Nofollow, rel = “nofollow” is added to it.

These types of links are basically backlinks, but they do not pass any link juice (vote) to the search engines. Just like the DoFollow link, if a user clicks on the NoFollow link, then he reaches that webpage, the only difference is that this link does not increase the ranking of that web page in the search engine.
